Frequently Asked Questions

The things I get asked most often: booking, pricing, the work itself, and what to do on the day. If your question isn’t here, just message me and ask.

Before you book

Can I use numbing cream before my appointment?

Don’t apply your own numbing cream before your appointment.

I keep numbing products at the studio that I know and trust. They work fast, don’t change the skin, and need no arranging in advance, so we can use them whenever we want.

Cream applied at home is a different matter. I can’t know for sure what it is, how strong it is, or how long it’s been on, and most of them firm the skin up so the needle doesn’t go in properly. Because of that, I have to work each area far longer to get proper saturation, which on an hourly rate costs you noticeably more. If you arrive with it already applied, we may have to cancel and rebook.

If pain is worrying you, don’t stress: plenty of breaks, sensible session lengths, and I’m told I’m good company.

How do I book a tattoo with Domi?

Message me on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger or through the contact form, whichever you already use. Tell me your idea, roughly where on the body you want it and about what size, and send over any reference images you’ve collected.

I chat with everyone before anything goes in the diary. Nothing is confirmed until we’ve talked it through and I’m confident I can give you a piece you’ll be happy with for life. There’s a full walk-through of the three steps on the home page.

How much does a tattoo cost?

I charge a transparent rate of £50 per hour, with a minimum charge of one hour, so a small piece that only takes half an hour still comes to £50.

Because everyone’s skin type, pain tolerance, and design adjustments vary, it’s tough to predict the exact minute a piece will finish.

I work as efficiently as possible to minimise your cost, and I will always give you a realistic estimate beforehand rather than a fixed quote.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A £50 deposit secures your spot in the diary, and it comes off the final balance at the end of your session. It’s non-refundable if you cancel or don’t turn up, but it’s protected if you give me at least four working days’ notice: I’ll either refund it or move it across to your new date. The full terms are in the Deposit Policy.
Do you take walk-ins?
I mostly work strictly by appointment, but I do occasionally offer walk-in days or snap up last-minute cancellations. I always advertise these gaps on my social media first, so make sure you follow my pages for live updates!
How old do I need to be?
18 or over, with valid photo ID on the day. It’s illegal in the UK to tattoo anyone under 18, even with a parent’s consent. No exceptions.
Czy mówisz po polsku?(Do you speak Polish?)

Pewnie! Pochodzę z Krakowa, więc polski to mój ojczysty język. Niezależnie od tego, czy odezwiesz się po polsku czy angielsku, dogadamy się bez problemu.

Sure! I’m originally from Krakow, so Polish is my native language. Whether you reach out in English or Polish, both work perfectly for me.

The work itself

Do you do portraits?
I love tattooing portraits: family members, memorial pieces, pets, and film and music icons, all in black and grey realism. The one thing that makes or breaks a portrait is the reference photo, so send me the clearest, best-lit one you have. If you’re not sure whether a photo is good enough, send it over and I’ll tell you honestly before we book anything.
Do you do pet portraits?
Yes I do. Dogs, cats and other animals are a big part of my work, including memorial pieces for pets that have passed. Same rule as with people: the better the photo, the better the tattoo. A clear shot with good light, ideally at eye level, gives me everything I need to capture the character rather than just the likeness.
Do you do colour tattoos?
I work mainly in black and grey. If your idea needs a little touch of colour, I’m sure we can make it happen. However, if you want a full-colour tattoo, I’d rather point you to someone who’ll do it justice. Message me for recommendations.
Do you do cover-ups?
It depends entirely on the original tattoo. Some are straightforward to cover, while others are heavily saturated and might need a few sessions of laser treatment first. Send over a clear, well-lit photo of your existing ink along with your new idea, and I’ll give you an honest assessment.
Can I bring my own design?
Absolutely. Whether it’s your own drawing or a collection of reference images, I’m happy to look over it and adapt it into a custom piece that translates beautifully into a long-lasting tattoo.

On the day

How should I prepare for my appointment?
Sleep well, eat a proper meal beforehand, stay hydrated, and wear comfortable clothes that give easy access to the area we’re working on. No alcohol for 24 hours before, and make sure the skin isn’t sunburnt or peeling. Afterwards, the aftercare advice tells you exactly how to look after it.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Give me four working days’ notice and you can move your appointment without losing your deposit. Less than that, or a no-show, and the deposit is forfeited. The full terms are in the Booking Policy.

Still not sure about something? Ask me directly. There’s no such thing as a silly question, and I’d rather talk it through than have you wondering.
