Terms & Booking Policy
Last updated: 8 August 2026
These are the terms for booking an appointment and getting tattooed with me. They’re here to keep things clear and fair for both of us, so we can focus on the fun part — your tattoo. By booking in, you’re agreeing to these terms. They work alongside my Deposit Policy, Privacy Policy and Aftercare advice.
Booking your appointment
You can enquire through the form on my website, by email, or by direct message on Instagram or Facebook. The more you can tell me about your idea, placement, size and rough availability, the quicker I can come back to you with accurate pricing and dates.
Your appointment is only confirmed once your deposit has been received. Until then, the date and time remain open to other clients.
Deposits, cancellations and no-shows
A deposit is required to book, and it comes off the price of your tattoo. In short: I need at least 4 working days’ notice to cancel or reschedule without losing your deposit, and no-shows forfeit their deposit in full. Please read my full Deposit Policy for all the details — it forms part of these terms.
Age and ID
You must be 18 or over to be tattooed — there are no exceptions, even with parental permission. This is the law in the UK (the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969).
Please bring valid photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence) to your appointment. If you can’t prove you’re over 18, I won’t be able to tattoo you, and your deposit will be forfeited.
Being fit to be tattooed
For your safety, please arrive sober and well. I can’t tattoo anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and I’d always recommend eating beforehand and staying hydrated.
Please let me know in advance if any of the following apply, as they can affect whether or how I tattoo you:
- You’re pregnant or breastfeeding
- You have a skin condition, allergy, or are prone to keloid scarring
- You have a heart condition, diabetes, epilepsy, haemophilia, or take blood-thinning medication
- You have any other medical condition that may affect healing
In some cases I may ask for a doctor’s note before tattooing you. Any health information you share is handled in line with my Privacy Policy.
Numbing cream
Please do not apply numbing cream before your appointment. I don’t tattoo over it.
Numbing cream changes the texture of the skin, making it firmer so the needle can’t penetrate the way it normally would. To achieve the correct colour saturation I then have to spend considerably longer working over each area of the design. Because I charge an hourly rate, that extra time increases the cost of your tattoo — often substantially.
If you arrive with numbing cream applied, I reserve the right to cancel your appointment and reschedule it for another date. As this falls under 4 working days’ notice, normal deposit terms apply and your deposit will be forfeited — a new deposit will be required to rebook. See my Deposit Policy for the full details.
If you’re worried about how a session will feel, please talk to me before the day. I’d far rather plan breaks and session lengths around you than have to turn you away.
Consent
Before we start, you’ll be asked to read and sign a consent form confirming your details, that you’re over 18, and that you’re fit to be tattooed. If you’re not comfortable signing it, I won’t be able to go ahead.
Pricing and payment
I’ll always give you an estimate before your appointment. Because I work on an hourly rate, this is an estimate rather than a fixed quote. Due to the nature of tattooing, it can sometimes be tough to predict exactly how long a piece will take — things like individual skin type, pain tolerance (if we need to take more frequent breaks), and minor design adjustments on the day can all impact the time. That said, I always try my absolute best to complete each project as efficiently as possible to minimise the cost for you.
The minimum charge is one full hour. If a piece takes less than an hour, it’s still charged at the full hourly rate.
Any estimate is based on the idea, size, placement and detail we discuss — if the design changes significantly beforehand, the estimate may change too. Larger pieces are priced by session.
Your deposit is deducted from the final total, and the remaining balance is due at the end of your appointment (or at the end of each session for larger work).
Running late
Please do your best to arrive on time — a few minutes early is ideal. Your slot is reserved specifically for you from its scheduled start time, so if you’re running late, your charged time is counted from when the appointment was due to begin, not from when you actually arrive. As I work on an hourly rate, the clock effectively starts at your booked start time.
Arriving late also cuts into the time we have together, which can mean a piece isn’t finished in one sitting. If you know you’re going to be delayed, please message me as soon as you can and I’ll do my best to help.
Your design
I create custom designs based on the brief we agree, so please share plenty of reference and inspiration. Designs are usually finalised close to your appointment, and small tweaks on the day are completely normal. Bigger changes may need extra drawing time, which can affect the price or require a new deposit.
My artwork and designs remain my creative property. They’re made for your tattoo and aren’t to be taken to another artist to be copied.
Touch-ups
Every tattoo heals a little differently. If a spot needs a small touch-up once it’s fully healed, I’m happy to sort it out, usually free of charge, provided you followed the aftercare advice. Touch-ups on areas that naturally wear faster — such as hands, fingers and feet — and reworks needed because of poor aftercare, sun damage or picking may be charged.
Aftercare
A big part of how your tattoo settles comes down to how you look after it. Please follow my Aftercare advice carefully. Once you leave the studio, healing is in your hands — if you’re ever unsure about anything, just message me.
Photos of your tattoo
I love documenting my work, so I may take photos or short videos of your tattoo for my portfolio and social media. I’ll only ever share these with your consent, and you can say no or change your mind — see my Privacy Policy for more.
Guests
To keep the studio calm, clean and comfortable, please keep guests to a minimum — ideally come on your own or bring just one person. For hygiene and safety reasons, please don’t bring children or pets to your appointment.
My right to refuse
I want everyone to have a great experience, and I reserve the right to decline or stop a tattoo at any point — for example if someone is intoxicated, unwell, behaving inappropriately, or requesting something I’m not comfortable tattooing (including offensive or hateful content, or a placement I don’t believe will heal or age well). If I decline before we start for one of these reasons, normal deposit terms apply.
Health, safety and hygiene
I work to strict hygiene standards, using single-use needles and properly sterilised equipment, at a fully licensed studio. Getting tattooed still carries some normal risks, and everyone’s skin heals differently, so I can’t guarantee an identical result for every person. Following your aftercare gives your tattoo the best possible chance to heal well. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your appointment is the one published here when you book. When I make changes, I’ll update the “last updated” date at the top of this page.
Questions?
If anything here isn’t clear, please ask before you book — I’m always happy to talk it through.
